Chief of Stables – Barrett Warner
barrett_bioOur 85 acres, 36 stalls, 30 horses, 11 paddocks, 3 arenas, 2 hayfields, and a cross country course take up half of Barrett’s week. The other half is devoted to horse trials and three day events. The USEA’s online Omnibus serves as his travel agent. August typically finds him in Millbrook, NY, followed by Fair Hill, MD and Kalamazoo, MI, before heading to Southern Pines, NC in early September. In typical fashion, even his cell phone uses an out of state area code: 540-222-0882. The good news is that he can receive texts but he still has trouble responding to them with his handy flip phone.

Barn Manager – Marta Deysi Alas
martaMarta has been putting her hands on our horses since September, 2008. She has proven herself very capable when undertaking Julia’s many specific requests while abiding by Barrett’s associative and migratory management style. Leave a note anywhere and she’ll find it, whether it’s an important feeding or medication adjustment, or a turn out request. Marta is naturally timid with her spoken English, but reads it very well. Try texting her at 443-761-1147.

Miguel Hernandez and Josue Alas are two of our tractor jockeys, harrowing the rings every other day, while Callie Hodge alternates with our grooms to provide horse therapies such as magnetic blanketing, point and wand lasering, hoof padding, and operating the jiggle machine.
